Silverwater

Silverwater is the prison where Ted Conkaffey turns routine into a method of survival. Its rules teach him to keep himself orderly and to defer judgment, while an episode of mistaken identity exposes how little control that discipline can provide in a volatile communal setting. After his release, the absence of imposed rules leaves him struggling to organize ordinary life.
